Hola!
My name is Marta Hernando, Director of the Au pair in Spain Program.
Like an Au pair agency, my main aim is to provide Au pairs coming
to Madrid (Spain) with a great family match and a trustworthy and
reliable point of contact during their stay. I also provide all Au
pairs with lots of information, help and advice to help make their
experience as an Au pair in Spain as enjoyable as possible. This has
been my motto like a director of the Au pair agency for the last 10
years and I believe it has gone well so far!
If you are interested in coming over to Spain to enjoy the culture
and the people, staying with a host family with children, and you
are willing to teach your language (English/ French/ German) to the

WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE?
-
Our Au pair agency has a wide selection of host
families, many of which we have worked with for several years. We
always try to find the best possible Au pair – Host Family
match.
-
As soon as you have decided you would like to
go ahead with the program, and in order to find a host family match
for you, you will need to send to our Au pair agency the following:
- Completed Application Form (which you can obtain from the website
of our Au pair agency). This is the document that we need most urgently.
You can send to our Au pair agency this form first.
- And then put together the rest of the information and send it
a few days later, to our email address: revilla_aupair@hotmail.com
:
- Some nice, friendly pictures of you (these can include some pictures
of you with your friends/family).
- Your “Dear Family” letter addressed to the prospective
family, telling them a bit about yourself and what you are expecting
from your time as an Au pair in Spain.
- 2 Childcare References with details of families we can contact
to obtain references on your previous experience as a babysitter
or child minder. Please ensure these details are up to date. Details
must include name, postal address, phone number and, if available,
email address.
- Recent Medical Certificate, stating that you are fit and well
to work as Au pair with children in Spain. Please note that Au pair
agencies are not able to accept applicants with eating disorders.
-
Once our Au pair agency has received your Application
Form and the rest of the documents to the Program Au pair in Spain,
I will read them carefully and will find you a host family. I will
then send you some more information and details on the selected
host-family.
-
Once you confirm you are happy with the family,
your hosts will contact you by phone to welcome you and to give
you the opportunity to ask any questions you might have about your
future experience like Au pair in Spain. At this point you should
also agree an arrival date which is convenient for both parties.
-
When you have booked your flight, you will need
to contact us and your hosts to give us your flight details. The
host family will meet and greet you at the airport and take you
home.
-
During your first week in Madrid, I would like
to have the opportunity to meet you and give you some information
about the city, maps, a list of cultural visits, etc. I will also
give you some ideas on how to meet people, what to do in your free
time, and to tell you a bit about our culture, customs and life
in Spain. During this meeting you will also have the opportunity
to tell me of any problems you might be experiencing with your family,
adapting to the city, choosing a suitable Spanish course, transport,
prices, etc. I will, of course, also be available to help you with
anything you may need throughout your entire stay in Spain.
PAYMENT OF FEES
The fee for the Program Au pair in Spain we provide is 90€,
and it is payable only once you have received and accepted your host
family’s details. No payment is required from you if for whatever
reason we are not able to find you a host family. Payment of fees
in full must be made at least 2 weeks before you arrive in Spain (non-payment
of fees will result in the cancellation of the program). Please note
that we can only accept payments by bank transfer.
If you are interested in joining the program Au pair in Spain, please
read the GUIDELINES AND RULES section of the website of our Au pair
agency, which is designed to provide you with some practical information
you will need to plan experience abroad. It is very important that
you read the GUIDELINES AND RULES carefully before completing the
APPLICATION FORM.
I hope I have answered any questions you might have had, but please
do not hesitate to contact me should you require any further information
or clarification about the Program Au pair in Spain.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Best regards from Madrid,
Marta Hernando
